Three Essential Tips to Keep Your Boombike Electric Bike Running Smoothly - BoomBike
One of the greatest advantages of Boombike electric bikes is their ease of maintenance and repair. Modern cars have become so complex that even those who used to work on their older cars are now forced to take their newer vehicles to a mechanic for costly maintenance and repairs. Being able to maintain and repair your own Boombike not only saves money but also offers a clear advantage over expensive car maintenance.

Here are my top three tips for keeping your Boombike running smoothly. While there are many more tips I could share, these three will cover the basics for now.

1. Keep Your Battery Charged

It's always a good idea to keep your battery topped off. While some batteries can handle being completely drained, it's generally wise to charge your Boombike battery whenever you can. Consider charging your battery at work or while running errands. Most employers and shops are okay with people charging their batteries once they understand it costs just pennies to fully charge a Boombike battery! Keeping your battery charged is beneficial for its overall lifespan and ensures you have enough power for unexpected trips.

2. Keep Your Chain Lubricated

Use a good bike chain lubricant to keep your chain running smoothly and efficiently, and to prevent that squeaky "old bike" noise. Simply apply the lubricant to the chain, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off the excess with a shop rag. Eventually, you will need to clean the chain with a degreaser to remove accumulated dirt. I will soon create a video tutorial on this process.

3. Keep Your Tires Inflated

Maintaining the proper tire pressure ensures a smooth and efficient ride while preventing flats. If your tire pressure is too low, your bike will be harder to pedal, and you risk a pinch flat (when you roll over an obstacle, causing the tube to puncture by pinching it between the tire and rim). If your tire pressure is too high, the ride will be rougher.

As a general rule of thumb, I recommend 50 psi for a Boombike used for cruising around town for an average rider weight. For lighter riders, 40-45 psi is suggested, and for heavier riders, 55-60 psi.
